Bhubaneswar: The Metal Conclave 2024, held in Bhubaneswar, brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and experts for a day of insightful discussions on the future of the metals and manufacturing sector. The event highlighted the pressing issues of sustainability, growth, and financing within the industry, offering a platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
The conclave was inaugurated by the President of UCCI Mr Brahmananda Mishra ji, Odisha State President Laghu Udyog Bharti, Mr Tapan Kumar Swain ji, Odisha Plastic pipes Manufacturing association Mr Nikunj Chhotray ji, Mr Trinath Lenka, Managing Director, Wallet4wealth and convenor .
Mr Sampad Chandra Swain, Honorable Minister of State for Industries sent his best wishes , and spoke about the critical role of innovation and sustainability in driving the future of the metals industry.
The first panel discussion featured Mr. Tapan Kumar Swain, President of Laghu Udyog Bharti, and Mr. Dhiren Charania, Manager PMT (Base Metals) at MCX, who explored the opportunities and sustainability practices within the metal industry. Their session underscored the importance of eco-friendly strategies and the need for continued adaptation in an evolving industrial landscape.

The second panel delved into the topic of financing and growth in the metals and manufacturing industry. Mr. Trinath Lenka, Managing Director of Wallet 4 Wealth, and Mr. Vibhor Tandon, Director of MSME and Startup Accelerators, Mr Kamal Sahoo, FEIO, led the discussion, addressing the financial challenges faced by MSMEs and the potential for growth through innovative financing models, including IPOs and other capital-raising strategies.
The conclave concluded with a productive Q&A session and networking opportunities, with key figures such as Dr. S.K. Biswal, CEO & MD of IGMRC, Bhubaneswar, and Mr. Brahmanand Mishra, President of Utkal Chamber of Commerce, sharing their perspectives.
