Cuttack Deputy Director of Mines Held; Over ₹4 Crore Cash Seized

Bhubaneswar:  Odisha Vigilance arrested Sri Debabrata Mohanty, Deputy Director of Mines, Cuttack Circle, for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹30,000 from a licensed coal vendor.

Following his arrest, simultaneous searches were conducted at his flat in Bhubaneswar, parental house in Bhadrak, and office chamber in Cuttack. During the raids, over ₹4 crore in cash concealed in trolley bags and almirahs was recovered from his Bhubaneswar flat. The amount is still being counted.
Additionally, ₹1.20 lakh was seized from his office drawer and personal possession. Officials stated that this is the highest-ever cash seizure in the history of Odisha Vigilance.
